In 1966, the production of bolted steel tanks was launched in Vítkovice.
Sixty years of technical know-how, experience and a story that continues to this day.
WITKOWITZ ENVI a.s. is the manufacturing and technological successor to the original Vítkovice programme of bolted steel tanks.
The company builds on the experience, engineering solutions and know-how developed since 1966.
We commemorate this significant tradition symbolically through a 1:5 scale grain silo model, which we manufactured and installed for the National Agricultural Museum in the Lower Vítkovice Area.
The model is more than just a scaled-down version of a real structure. It represents a reminder of our industrial heritage, engineering expertise and decades of experience that continue to form an integral part of our field today.
Today’s tanks are manufactured from enamelled, stainless steel or powder-coated steel sheets. They are widely used in wastewater treatment plants, biogas plants, agriculture and industry, as well as for the storage of water and liquid fertilisers.

A small model carrying a great story.
That is why we are proud to have created this model to mark the 60th anniversary of bolted steel tank production. Its prominent location within the Lower Vítkovice Area gives it a special symbolic significance. It reminds visitors of an important part of Ostrava’s industrial history while demonstrating that technical heritage does not have to remain confined to archives.
